Samples & Wax
Rustic, Smooth Pine and Oak Wood Samples
We carefully apply a wax finish to our pine and oak timbers in our workshop, enhancing all the natural features and wood grain. Wax not only makes the timbers look great but it is also very durable.
Getting the correct colour for your solid wood furniture and shelves is one of the most important parts of ordering and we want to make sure you have the opportunity to get the right colour to suit your home.
You can purchase samples of the wax finish colours here, either as single samples or as packs of the most frequently bought together.
- Rustic and Smooth Samples - provide a guide to the wax finishes used with our pine shelving and mantels and most of our solid wood furniture, including all our living room, dining room and bedroom furniture.

Future Maintenance With Wax Care Packs
Not only do we want to help you get it right before ordering, but we also want to help out after you have made your order and have received your furniture.
Our customer services supervisor, Abbie, has made a video to show you how to care for your furniture and shelves on a day-to-day basis. This one minute video is a quick guide and useful if you're considering purchasing our handmade furniture.
While our furniture is designed and made for real life and is built to last, we do understand that from time to time it gets knocked and so we have wax care packs to help fix any knocks and bumps.
The good thing about waxed solid wood furniture is that it is really easy to repair damages and can be done in no time at all. A small amount of wax will fix a scratch. Or bigger damage can be fixed with a quick rub of sandpaper, then use the wax go cover up the bare timber and buff away.
Our workshop supervisor, John, has made a one minute long video showing you how to use the wax care packs, while he was repairing a piece of furniture in our showroom. You can watch it, here.
The wax care packs comprise of a small tin of wax, a piece of sandpaper, a cloth for application, and instructions for use. They are great to use every few months to keep your pieces looking brand new all the time.
